Comments

When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam.
An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be shared with the Gravatar service to check if you’re using it. You can view the Gravatar service’s privacy policy at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public alongside your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the site, avoid including images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can extract location information from these files if present.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience and last one year.
If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie is set to check if your browser accepts cookies. This is deleted when you close your browser.
We also set cookies to save login details and screen preferences when you log in. Login cookies last two days; screen option cookies last a year. If “Remember Me” is selected, login cookies remain for two weeks. Logging out removes them.
If you edit or publish content, a cookie will be saved that contains no personal data—only the post ID of the article. It expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, etc.). This content behaves as if the visitor had visited the other website.
These sites may collect data, use cookies, and embed tracking from third parties. They may monitor how you interact with the embedded content, especially if you’re logged in to those websites.
